Meet the Staff

These are the wonderful women at the heart of Her Crown of Grace!

Kelsey Anne

Kelsey is an almost-20-year-old literature enthusiast. She is in her third year of studying English and Creative Writing at Towson University and lives in a little apartment outside of Baltimore, MD, with a cat named Catsby. She has found her true calling at her job at a library where she buzzes around shelving books and cheerfully helping customers. In her free time she loves to devour books and drink tea - LOTS of tea - and she is powered by cotton candy ice cream and sunshine. Kelsey was the first daughter to leave the nest, but still spends her days missing the wide open fields and blue, unpolluted skies of her parents' home in Northern Maryland, where the rest of her family (her parents, her older and younger sisters, and five other cats) still resides. When she is not buried in a good book, Kelsey loves to spend time getting to know her Jesus, the one who saved her and made her lovely. This blog is her creative baby and she hopes to see it blossom into something beautiful and God-honoring. You can read her daily ramblings on Twitter (@kelsheyanne) or follow her on Instagram (@kelshey) for a constant stream of cat and book pictures.

"Jesus found me when I was at my worst. I fell headfirst into His loving arms and I never want to leave them. I want to share that complete love of Christ with everyone I meet and let it radiate through me, because everyone deserves to know what our Savior did for us and learn about His unending grace that He has gifted to us."

Kelsey's favorite bible verses: "Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold on to the word of life." Philippians 2:14-16a

Alison

Alison (Ali) Jefferies is a Philadelphia native living in Baltimore, Maryland, with her husband Dustin and pet rabbit, Peter Bun Iver. At age 27, she holds bachelor’s degrees in German and Psychology from Messiah College and is a self-employed jewelry designer at her business, J’Adorn Designs. She also works part-time at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, where she assists with the children’s ministry. An artist at heart, she has learned to embrace her creativity and seeks to find ways to use it to draw nearer to the heart of God, the original Creator. She is especially passionate about women’s issues, social justice, and bringing restoration and reconciliation to her world. In her free time, Ali can be found perfecting the art of gluten-free cooking, practicing yoga, elbows-deep in her garden, or immersed in a good book or album. Follow her daily on Instagram (@alijadorn) and Twitter (@alisonjefferies) for updates, pretty things, and shamelessly high volumes of bunny pictures.

“I spent a lot of time when I was younger trying to follow the rules, thinking that good behavior would draw me closer to God, but always came up empty and feeling guilty. Now that I know the meaning of grace and have experience his boundless love for me, all I want to do is know Him more.”

Ali's favorite bible verses: “And He who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new…” -Revelation 21:5a

Raven

She goes by Raven or Ray, whichever you prefer! At 19 about to turn 20, she lives in the small town of La Plata, MD and has two wonderful siblings who cause her equal amounts of pain and joy! When she is not there with them, she is at Towson University majoring in Family & Human Services with a minor in her great love, English. She runs her own faith-based blog called Surrender YourselfRaven is still not sure what she's supposed to do in this life, but God has called her to love others and share the Good news. She hopes to do this through writing and sharing her thoughts with all of you daughters in Christ!

"HE has blessed me through my school, my friends, and my bible study that I have the amazing opportunity to lead and teach! I imagine he will keep blessing me and others through the use of this blog."

Raven's favorite bible verses: "Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will make your path straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
